1880-S $1 NGC MS64 CAC Dramatic Album Toned Morgan
Rarely does an album toned Morgan have this dramatic of a look. As is typical with album toners, the luster is a tad muted but does not distract or present itself as a haze or anything detrimental such as that. Honestly, if the luster were booming, I would find it suspect. However, stunning magenta flows into royal blue and emerald green out from the center of the obverse with bright third cycle greens and yellows dominate the fields. As one would expect with an album toner, the reverse also displays wonderful color radiating from the rims to the center. I would have to say that for every 100 bag toned Morgans, there is only a handful (maybe 5) of album toned Morgans. It is surely a rare treat to find one this stunningly toned and with 100 percent obverse and reverse toning to boot. Do not miss your chance to add an album toner to your collection as they rarely come along this attractive and worthy of inclusion in an exceptionally toned Morgan dollar collection.
