196? 50c NGC Mint Error SMS Kennedy Die Adj. Strike
Rare 50c NGC Mint Error SMS Kennedy Die Adjustment Strike from 196? displays abundant flash. Surprisingly sharp devices considering these mint error specimens usually appear as weakly struck to very weakly struck. This one appears to have been struck too hard spreading the coin into and over the rims. As you know these coins are meant to be round up and destroyed, never to escape the confines of the mint. Some of the errors proved evasive to the mint workers and somehow wiggled their way into circulation. This example happens to be one of the finer we've offered. A choice example sure to make a prized addition to any mint error collection.
