1896 $1 NGC PF66* STAR ULTRA CAMEO Proof Morgan Dollar - CAC
Well, I told you guys. I had the coin regraded and sure enough, better than I thought. They sent it back as a PF66* STAR ULTRA CAMEO. It will be back at CAC to get the sticker put back on after I get it back. Yeah, that is what the coin looks like. This coin is BLACK and WHITE. Well, I say white but it does have a faint hint of gold to it. This coin resided in an old NGC fattie holder which preceeds the generation that they started with the Cameo and Ultra Cameo designation. That explains why they did not grade it PR66 UCAM. (IT IS NOW!!) 1896 saw a mintage of only 752 proofs struck. This coin is fully struck. PCGS price guide indicates a value of $23,000 in 66DCAM with $26,500 for a + coin.
