1880 $1 NGC PF66* STAR CAMEO Toned Proof Trade Dollar

1880 $1 NGC PF66* STAR CAMEO Toned Proof Trade Dollar
Ex: Simpson. The 1880 had the highest proof mintage in the Trade dollar series, but it is actually not as common as one might expect. A total of 1,987 proofs were issued, and of the number that survive, the majority do not show cameo contrast and grade between PR63 and PR65. It is a pleasant surprise to see a specimen that not only grades PR66 Cameo, but also possesses significant eye appeal. The obverse of this impressive Premium Gem has a silver-gray center framed by gold, blue, and light green toning, while the reverse exhibits a mix of pink, blue, and sea-green toning below peach-gold color in the upper-left. NGC has certified just two PR66 Cameo specimens with the Star designation.
I took two different shots of this coin. The above shot shows the toning and the below shot shows the cameo.
