National Bank Notes Small Size Tennessee

This is the content for the National Bank Notes.

Small Size-National Bank Notes

Small size National Bank Notes were issued from July 1929 to March 1935. Only $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 denominations were issued and all are now obsolete. All series of 1929 bear the Woods and Jones signatures and carry a Brown seal.

Small Size National Banks Notes were issued in two distinct types of currency.

  • Type one was issued from July 1929 to May 1933 and featured two black charter numbers on the face of the note.
  • Type two was issued from May 1933 to March 1935 and featured four black charter numbers on the face of the note, the two additional ,charter numbers are in brown ink alongside the two serial numbers. Type two notes are considered scarcer than the type one in most cases.
