This 1928 $50 Gold Certificate is one of the nicest ones I have owned for a long time. The serial number is A02397534A and it resides in a GEM PCGS-65EPQ holder.

Check out the large scans and you will see how it acquired its loft GEM status. The gold colors are outstanding as you can see on small seal and serial numbers on the face of the note. the centering is dead on and looks like it could have easily received a 66-67 grade.

On the back you will notice that the bottom margin is a tad bit larger than the top margin. Well that is normal as this note is in the L position or the 12th note (bottom note) in a 12 subject sheet. The A position (top note) and the L position (bottom note) will always show some additional margin known as selvage. It is normal and the grading company realized this. A lot of collectors prefer the A and L position notes for this very reason.

To locate a 1928 $50 gold certificate in a GEM-65 holder for under $9,000 is a major coupe. The last one I had I sold for $8,450 last year. I bought this one right and I am offering it to my clients at a greatly reduced price. I suggest you check around and see what the real prices are and you will be duprised.
