This is a 1899 $5 Chief note with a serial number of E555555 is a very well known and famous note. There are two 1899 $5 Chiefs with solid 5 serial numbers. The first one had 8 fives and was sold in the LKA John Walker Whitney sale on October 16, 2004 for almost $50,000 to a Canadian collector. I was the underbidder on that one. When this one came available a year later I jumped all over it.

I've had this note in the Jhon E Cash Collection for some time. Solid fives on a five dollar bill is rare in itself, but on a large size note, it is unheard of. It also has a high cool factor. If you're looking for something fancy and rare, this is the one that needs to be considered.

There comes a time when you just have to let something so special go and now is that time, for someone else can enjoy it.
