This is one of those notes that I have never owned. It is the famous 1880 $50 Silver Certificates. This note is new to the census as it was just recently discovered by someone out of New York. It was stuck away in a shoe of an elderly lady who passed away. Keep in mind there are only 27 know 1880 $50 Silver Certificates known. This is not a high grade one but it also wont set you back over $100,000 either. It is in a PMG Fine-12 holder with a NET connation. The bottom center margin has some minor restoration that was performed by one of the best in the country. You probably would not even notice it if it was not disclosed. I am so happy that it was done properly to preserve this rare note for future generations to appreciate. Believe it or not, there are no rips, tears or pinholes. It has survived quite well, in a shoe. I am very happy and pleased to be able to offer this rarity to the collecting community. You may never ever again get an opportunity to own one at this price. Check the large scans.
