This is one of those notes that I just had to buy as it would qualify to go into the Jhon E Cash Collection. This is part of a famous collection that was auctioned off at the Baltimore Show on March 26, 2015.

This is the 13th 1862 $5 Legal Tender note printed and issued. I like the serial number 13 for some odd reason. I did indeed pay a little bit more money for it because of the serial number, but to own the 13th of anything is exciting to me. Besides it is an Choice Uncirculated example as well. There is a NET notation because there is a closed pinhole somewhere that I have yet to find. In other words this is a EPQ graded note with a closed pinhole. But that is no big deal because it does not take away the beauty of the design of this 153 year old American rarity .

All the red and green inks are PERFECT and vibrant as the day it was printed. This was a well preserved presentation note and put away a long time ago. The margins are incredible for a hand cut note.

This special example is designed for a very upscale collection. The serial number is 13 and it resides in a PMG-64 holder.
