POP1/none finer--- This is the Finest 1906 $20 Gold Certificate Star known of all seven of the Fr-1186* stars by PCGS or PMG. It is also pedigreed to the Bass Collection which will certainly create even more interest as his currency holdings were massive and legendary. The note has the eye appeal of an even higher grade with only bends and light wrinkling making up the circulation. However check this out. Of the seven known stars, five are the type 1 where the front plate number is below the plate type. In this case the plate type, located to the bottom right of the note is C. There are two type 2 notes where the plate number is located to the right of the plate type, in this case it is C165. In other words this is one of only two known 1906 $20 Gold Certificate Stars. This is the finest of the rarest. What a Find! This is also the finest example by a wide margin. This 1906 star is the only Large size gold certificate star I’ve never owned....until now. This is an absolutely incredible original note. All the embossing is easily viewed through the holder. The bright burnt-orange color jumps out at you, as it has never been cleaned, as most all of your large size gold certificates have. Also notice the large and even boardwalk margins which are a trademark of these large size gold certs. I have waited many years for this note to come around and now I own it. It could be yours. There are absolutely NO rips, tears, pinholes or bank marks anywhere on this beauty. This rare star note will certainly be avidly pursued by dedicated star collectors as it is the finest known and likely will stay that way. It is in a PCGS-45PPQ holder.
