Fr.-119 This is a very nice example of a GEM-65EPQ Fr.-119 also known as the Bison or Buffalo Note. It is a 1901 $10 Legal Tender with the serial number of E9896548 and is in a PMG-65EPQ holder. The front features a portrait of Lewis and Clark on each side. You will notice the lipstick red scalloped seal and serial numbers are a vivid as the day it was printed. The margins are even all the way around and the 4 corners are perfectly squared. Recent sales of GEM Bison notes in the last Heritage auction sale held on April 24th in Chicago show that GEM-65 Bison’s were selling in the range of $8500 to over $10,000 with the buyer’s premium depending on the FR number. I was lucky and bought this note BEFORE the auction and am able to offer it to my clients at a much better price. You certainly won’t be disappointed with this one.
