This is one of the finest known Fr-1214, 1882 $100 Large Size Gold Certificates I have owned in a very long time. PCGS has graded 76 of theses and this note is in the top 12 graded. The Fr-1214 (76 graded) is much scarcer than the Fr-1215 (244 graded). I bought this Gold Certificate in Chicago raw and had it graded. I showed it to many of my keen eyed dealer friends before I got it graded and we all concurred that it has tremendous knock your eyes out embossing. This note has all the embossing that one could want. Why it was not given a PPQ we do not know why. To locate any 1882 $100 large size gold certificate in this grade is very tough and expensive. You have probably owned or seen for sale a few of the Fine and VF and an occasional EF graded $100 1882 gold certificates on eBay. To top that off most of those had some type of repair, pinhole or other issue. This 1882 Gold Certificate has no rips, tears, pinholes or bank marks. This would make a nice addition as a high end type note for the large size gold certificate collector. The serial number is M1209807 and it is in a PCGS-55 almost uncirculated holder. For those of you who have searched for years for a note like this you know how scarce they are in high grade. You can email me at jhon@jhonecash.com or call me at 214-769-9936, most anytime. A PCGS-55 example of this same note sold at a Heritage auction in January of 2013 for $7,050 serial number M1013148, lot #17162. You can own this one now./B>
