The Bureau of Engraving and Printing's (BEP) takes you to the official government site of the BEP for some interesting information and facts on all of our US currency.

US Papermoney will take you to a site that is full of information on everything you ever wanted to know about our US currency. Almost everything anyway. Very cool site!

The American Numismatics Association (ANA) is a professional organization for those who want to further learn about US coins and currency.

PMG and PCGS are the only two TRUE independent currency-grading services available. I highly recommend these two companies for those of you who want to get their currency certified and graded for insurance purposes or simply, a peace of mind.

No Longer Available

This is the famous and last year of the large size $500 Gold Certificates. The next series printed was the 1928 small size series. The one you are viewing is the 1922 version, not to be confused with the 1882 $500 Gold Certificate as they look very similar.

This will surprise some people, but the 1922 $500 Gold Certificate is twice as rare as its older brother, the 1882 $500 Gold Certificate.

  • There are a total of 106 1882 $500s in all FR numbers with only 85 available for collectors.
  • There are only a total of 53 1922 $500 Gold Certificates with only 40 available for collectors. Are you surprised? You should know this before you spend your hard earned cash!

This $500 Gold Certificate note has no rips, tears or pinholes. It is totally original as the photos will attest. It seems to have been put in someone’s wallet for many, many years. Its all there in one piece.

This note would make a GREAT addition to your rare type note gold collection without breaking the bank as a higher graded one will do, if you can find one that’s affordable. This note was previously in a PCGS-20 Holder.

It is currently in a PMG F-15 holder. You can email me at jhon@jhonecash.com or call me at214-769-9936, most anytime..
