I just picked up this nice 1901 $10 Bison Legal Tender on the last day of the CPMX show in Chicago along with another one in a PCGS-64PPQ. I really liked the lipstick red colors of the small scalloped seal and the roman numeral X that shows the vibrant color prominently through to the obverse. That is what you want to see on a GEM note. The paper quality and deep embossing of the serial numbers is very visible through the holder. The only thing that keeps this beauty from being a superb GEM and a $10,000 price tag, is there is a paper bend on the right side between the 1 and 7 of the serial number. It will be very hard to detect and you may be able to see it better on the back. Pretty trivial but it is what it is. Other than that this faces up like a GEM note. The serial number is E27371863 and resides in a PCGS-58PPQ holder. Did you notice the last four digits of the serial number, 1863 is during the Civil War for you history buffs.
