This 1862 $1 Legal Tender note is NOT a Fr.-16 as PCGS says but a scarcer Fr.-16c version. The series # 259 is to the right of the date and there is NO ABC monogram at the middle right. I will have it labeled correctly at the next show.

This is a stunning GEM Fr-16 1862 $1 Legal Tender with a single minor fold in it. You will not be able to see it with the naked eye. Remember this is a 153 year old note in pristine condition. These were also hand cut back then and the margins were way off on most examples. This 1862 Legal Tender has great even margins with vibrant green and red inks. I have always loved the ornate back design on these Civil War era notes. Someone is going to get a great note at a great price.

The serial number of this beauty is 72491 and it resides in a PCGS-AU58PPQ holder.
