This is the FIRST time I have ever seen or owned a pair of consecutive serial numbered 1928 $1,000 Light Green Seal $1,000 bills in GEM-65EPQ holders. For those of you who are new to the high denomination market, Light Green Seals (LGS) notes are extremely rare on any 1928 $500 or $1,000, especially in GEM condition. They are the most desired and sought after of all $500 and $1,000 bills. You will occasionally see one at auction and it will easily sell for $14,500 to $17,000. In the last Heritage auction held in Schaumburg, IL on April 26th, 2014 a 1928 Chicago $1,000 with the common dark green seal sold for $11,450. What I am offering here is a pair of consecutive serial numbered 1928 $1,000 light green seals from the tough St Louis district, both in GEM-65EPQ holders. The serial consecutive numbers are H00039140A and H00039141A both in a GEM PCGS-65PPQ holder. These are both Top Pop with none finer for both PMG and PCGS census figures. PCGS had graded only one other in GEM-65EPQ, with this pair it makes three in GEM-65EPQ. I placed the other one with an astute collector in February of 2013. I would like to keep the pair together as a set but would consider selling them individually. It you are in the market for a Top Pop set of rare 1928 LGS $1,000 bills in GEM-65PPQ holders, this may be the only chance you will ever get to own the set. For additional scans or info you can contact me at 214-769-9936. If you want the pair I will sell it for $25,500 delivered.
