This is one of the rarest of all of the 1934 $5,000 notes known. This rare authentic $5,000 bill is from the very scarce Philadelphia (C) District and has a three digit fancy serial number of C00000100A. As you can see by the scans it is in great condition with no visible major issues. There are actually 4 Philly's in the census, but one of them is suspect with no known data. Technically that makes only three known for collectors. ONLY THREE! In comparison: there are five 1913 V nickels and they sell regularly for over $3.5 million each. What is wrong with this picture? This may be your only chance to own one of the three 1934 Philly $5,000 bills. There are only 186 known $5,000 in all series and districts. You will never see these notes in auctions, especially a Philly. This 1934 $5,000 bill has been graded as a PCGS-35 with some minor nicks on the margin that does not go into the design. Because of this minor issue it has been downgraded from a actual 45 grade to a 35 grade. In the recent FUN show auction held in Orlando on Jan 8th 2014 a 1934 $10,000 Binion Note in a PCGS-62 Holder sold for $129,150. It seems like a lot of our $5,000 and $10,000 are going to overseas buyers and collectors who are grabbing them as fast as they show up at auction or on the internet. They know that right now is a good time to buy them as the prices are low. I will be taking this Philly $5,000 note with me on the many road shows coming up in the next few months, if it is still available. I just lowered the price on this note for a quick sale. At $114,500 for a rare 1934 Philadelphia $5,000 bill, it is a no brainer for the serious buyer collector.
