As the largest buyer and reseller in the United States of US $5,000 and $10,000 Federal Reserve Notes, Jhon E Cash Rare Currency LTD is proud to offer this rare and spectacular 1934 $10,000 FRN from the Chicago District. This Light Green Seal variety (LGS) has some light circulation that you will hardly notice and does not distract from the overall beauty. The serial number of this stunning and authentic Chicago $10,000 FRN is G00001081A and it currently resides in a PMG-45 holder.
There are only 25 $10,000 bills known from the Chicago district compared to 103 from the New York district as 100 of them are from the Binion Hoard of Las Vegas fame. Chicago has always been one of the most popular districts, next to the Dallas district. Very rarely do I come across a nice VF to EF example of any $10,000 bills without any issues.
Over the last 12 years I have bought and sold over 162 of the $5,000 and $10,000 bills. I have resold many of them 3 to 5 times as I repurchase them back from clients when they are ready to resell them. A large portion of the $10,000 bills are in uncirculated condition (due to the 100 $10,000 bills from the Binion hoard) or they are in lower grades of VG to VF with major issues like rips, tears, pinholes, etc. There are very few $10,000 bills that exist in the mid grade range of VF to AU without any issues on them. This is one of those few.
This Chicago $10,000 is one of the two consecutive serial numbered $10,000 bills I discovered in a coin shop in the Midwest back in early 2010. An older gentleman walks into to this coin shop with an old cigar box full of coins that had 5 or 6 crumbled bills in the corner of the cigar box. The shop owner told unfolded the paper money and some were obvious monopoly money and two of them looked like $10,000 bills. The shop owner told him the two $10,000 bills were fake notes as were the others. He bought the old man’s coins and sent him on his way with his crumbled up paper money in the old cigar box. Being curious, the shop owner decided to call me and told me about this guy and his 2 fake $10,000 bills. The shop owner just happened to have taken a photo of them with his phone and texted the photos to me. I called him back immediately and told him those two fakes were indeed real $10,000 bills. I ended up buying both of them and here is one of those two fake $10,000 bills. They were both new to the census at the time. This is a true story.
This beautiful Extra Fine example has absolutely no rips, tears, pinholes, bank markings, missing pieces or holes. This is a good example of a three-fold Extra Fine. Being a Light Green Seal variety adds additional allure to the note. You will not be able to see the folds but there are three folds somewhere on this note. Check the large scans and see the beautiful boardwalk margins. The highlight of this specimen is the firm creamy white paper with the deep dark green inks that really shows up clearly, especially on the front. Anyone who ends up with this gorgeous and authentic $10,000 bill note is going to be extremely happy.
This 1934 $10,000 Chicago FRN has been graded as a PMG EF-45. The serial number is G00001081A and displays the Light Green seal variety (LGS). For your information, I also owned the other note with serial number G00001082A.
