Fr.-2404 This is a very nice example of the 1928 $50 Gold Certificate in a PCGS-63PPQ holder. Of all the
1928 gold certificates, the $50 denomination is the hardest to acquire in uncirculated condition. The $10 and $20 gold certificates are more common in uncirculated condition. The other reason being is that there were less $50 issued than the $100 gold certificate. I don’t understand why this one did not get in at least a 64PPQ holder? The centering and margins are definitely a 64 grade on the face and at least a 65 on the reverse. Go figure, maybe someone had a bad day at the office. But you can see for yourself and be the judge. I’ve seen many 64’s and a few 65’s with the same centering! Anyway the colors are excellent and it is a very nice note for the gold certificate collector.
