Do you realize how hard it is to find a real nice 1928 $100 Gold Certificate that has not been pressed or cleaned? It is almost impossible. Almost 75% of all of the 1928 $50 and $100 Gold Certificates have been doctored in some way. Look around and you will notice that most of the graded ones do not have the PMG EPQ or PCGS PPQ designator on them. That is because it was a common practice in the 1940's to the 1960's to clean and press them for collectors. This particular $100 Gold Certificate is totally original with no doctoring at all. The bright burnt-orange color is a vivid as the day it was printed. You can easily see the embossing through the holder. There are no hard folds with soil, nor are there any rips, tears or pinholes. It has been graded as a PMG-AU-53EPQ. It could have easily been a 55EPQ or 58EPQ grade. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer note at this price. The serial number is A01142840A. There are no rips, tears, pinholes or bank marks. It is totally original to the max. Check the large scans and see for yourself.
