This is a Fr-260, 1886 $5 Silver Certificate also known as the famous Silver Dollar Back, with the small red seal. This is a high grade Silver Dollar Back which is just a hair shy of the $25,000 full uncirculated grade. This is a total original note with no doctoring. A recent Fr.260 in a PMG-58EPQ just sold in the Heritage Chicago auction on April 28, 2011 lot # 17030 for $10,925. In the LKA Memphis show on 6/11/2011 lot # 1092 a PCGS-58 (NO PPQ) FR-259 sold for over $10,000. Neither one was near as nice as this one being offered. The Silver Dollar reverse boast sharp colors and is centered between 4 more than adequate margins. If you have ever checked out Silver Dollar Backs then you will know that this price is way below market. It is in a stunning PMG-58EPQ holder. Try to find the single fold? In the Philly ANA auction a Silver Dollar Back in a PMG-58 with no EPQ hammered for $10,575, lot# 7645 in the Bowers Merena auction lot number 7645. That make this one a real steal with the EPQ.
