This is a very nice 1896 $5 Education note which was part of a complete set of Educational's I just purchased at the Rocky Mountain Denver show held May 11th, 2014. The $2 Educational lasted just 5 minutes on the website. As you can see by the large scans this is a well centered note with great paper quality and vivid inks. It faces up as a GEM note. There are no rips, tears, pinholes or bank marks. The serial number is 16560920 and it resides in a PCGS VF-35 holder. The $5 Educational note is the most collected note of all US Currency, both large size and small size. The Allegorical group Electricity as the dominant force in the world. It was engraved by the famous engraver C.F.C Smillie. The back shows The head of Ulysses S. Grant and Phillip Sheridan, Union generals during the Civil War. Now you can see why this note is so popular. This beauty was previously in a CGA-64 holder. I have priced it at wholesale prices for some lucky collector. Grab it before it is gone!
