This is the famous 1899 $5 Silver Certificate commonly referred to as the Chief Note. It features the head of Ta-to-ka-in-yan-ka, also known as Running Antelope who was a member of the Oncpapa tribe of Sioux Indians. This is the only issue of US paper money for which a Native American was selected as a central figure. Chief notes are one of the most popular issues of all US currency. This example is a very nice well margined note that is in a PMG-30EPQ holder. This is probably the more stunning PMG-30EPQ note I have. There are NO rips, tears, pinholes, bank marks or anything else wrong with this note. The serial number is E73836000.
