What a lovely duce 1891 treasury note. This is a very nice 1891 $2 Treasury Note. It is commonly referred to as a McPherson note because his bust is on the face. General James McPherson was a Union General and hero of the Battle of Vicksburg. The face also features a small red scalloped seal and dual red serial numbers. Check out the reverse design, is that not just plain beautiful. What happened to our beautiful currency we used to have? This is a total original note with lipstick red colors and embossing that can be seen through the holder. The ONLY thing that keeps this from a superb GEM note is the back centering in a millimeter off from top to bottom. The serial number is B8363335 and it is in a PMG-64EPQ holder. It is priced to sell.
