This is a 1869 $5 Legal Tender or commonly referred to as a Rainbow or Pioneer note. It features Andrew Jackson the seventh President of the US from 1829 to 1833. At the center is s painting of the Pioneer Family and engraved by Alfred Henry Gugler.

All of the 1869 Legal Tenders are referred to as Rainbow Notes because of their beautiful and vibrant colors across the front. This is a totally Uncirculated note with no problems of any kind. The top margin at the right keep this from a GEM note. It also features the thick dark red serial numbers with a star following at the end for which Rainbow notes are famous for and the large red spiked seal to the right. Although there is a star after the serial number, it is NOT a star note or replacement note. Those were not introduced until around 1910. This is a beautiful example and would make a real nice addition to anyone's high end collection. The serial number is K3841967 and is in a PCGS-63PPQ holder. For you birthday collectors, anyone born in 1967?
