1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Notes are one of the most undervalued notes in all large size notes. They were issued under the Federal Reserve Act of December 13th, 1913.

The obverse features a portrait of Abraham Lincoln and the reverse features a vignette of Columbus sighting land on the left and Landing of the Pilgrims on the right side.

This 1914 $5 Red Seal FRN features the small red scalloped seal with red serial numbers and is from the key district of Boston. I could find only two other notes in the 40 to 45 grade that had the PM-GEPQ designator. This red seal note is in a Extre Fine PMG-40EPQ holder. The serial number is A3393253A.

ACCORDING TO TRACK AND PRICE THIS RED SEAL IS ONLY THE SECOND 1914 $5 BOSTON RED SEAL NOTE THAT HAS SHOWN UP IN AUCTION THAT HAS A EPQ SINCE 1992! THIS WAS PART OF THE FAMOUS RICKEY COLLECTION.

There are no rips, tears, pinholes and has never been pressed or cleaned. It is totally original. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer example at this price.
