This is one stunning 1869 $10 Legal Tender Rainbow notes. This note is in a PMG-64EPQ holder. The serial number is H4265992. The 1869 Rainbow Legal Tender notes are right up there with the 1896 Educational Silver Certificates series as one of the collectors most sought after series. This note features the bust of Daniel Webster, US Congressman and Senator and Secertary of State in 1841 and from 1850 to 1852. On the right is Indian princess Pocahontas being presented to Englands Royal Court. This is also the first "Jackass note" so-called because of the eagle on the bottom of the note looks like the head of a Jackass when the note is held upside down. The 1869 Legal Tender series is also refered to as the Rainbow notes because of its colorful Rainbow apperance on the front. This note has excellant color across the front. The only reason it received a PMG-64EPQ instead of a GEM-65 grade is because the back left margins are a miniscule in difference. I barly noticed it. You will not find a better note in this grade for a better price anywhere on the internet or in a dealers list. I guaranttee it! Check out the large scans of the beautiful ornate back design. This note won't last long. If any recent major auction this beautiful note in this graded sells for well over $8,000, especially in a PMG-64EPQ grade.
