1/14/2011 - I just listed 30 or so new notes that I recently acquired. There is a mix of small size and large size notes. They include: 1934 $500’s in PMG-66EPQ, 1928 $500 Gold Certificate in PCGSPPQ, a 1886 $5 Silver Certificate commonly referred to as the Silver Dollar Back, nine 1918 $2 FRBN Battleships, a few large size Legal Tenders and Silver Certificates, a cool 1917 $1 Legal Tender with the serial number K2A and a few more type notes. I am also looking to acquire a small collection of nice and rare large size notes on Saturday Jan. 15th. Also some of you are not aware of our interest free 60-day layaway plan. It is sometimes hard to find the info on this website. Brandon promised me he would try to make it more visible and easier to find for our clients. The Layaway Plan---It is real easy and simple to use. When you make your purchase notate at checkout that you want to use the layaway plan. All you are required to do is pay 1/3rd up front, 1/3rd on the 30th day and 1/3rd on the 6oth day. After that we will ship your note to you. You can pay off the total amount at any time with no penalty. I know how hard and time consuming it is to move money around from various brokerage accounts and other investments to a bank account. It takes time to do this. You should not be penalized for that. A vast amount of our clients use this method to lock in good deals at today’s prices and take their time to pay for it. There is no interest, hassle or early payoff penalties. Check it out.

1/11/2011 - TampaTampa, Fla. - WOW! The currency market is back with a vengeance! The FUN show was held in Tampa Florida this week and is the first major coin and currency show of 2011. The auction results of the Heritage sale left no doubt about the health of the currency market for 2011. If this sale is considered a bellwether of the new market to come, then get ready for a very healthy and exciting 2011. As far as I’m concerned the coin and currency market has been at the bottom for so long it is bound to come back as it always does. I think now is the time to by. As I could not attend the show personally because of a recent back operation, Brandon was there setup at our table. I was told that business on the bourse floor was very brisk and fast paced. I spoke over the phone to several dealers and they all said they were very pleased and impressed with the amount of attendees and buyers at the show. All of the dealers I talked to said attendees were coming to buy more so than the typical tire kickers. There were also a lot of people bring in coins and currency to sell, but nothing real exciting. As I was bidding on Heritages HA LIVE Friday night buying notes for stock and filling clients want list I was flabbergasted and pleased to see that good quality large size notes were going for prices that this market hasn’t seen since the pre crash of 2007 and 2008. Is this an indication of things to come for 2011? I can’t say for sure but I think the market is making a strong comeback back and with a vengeance. Average mid graded XF and AU notes was selling well above prices realized from recent auctions and high graded notes in GEM 65 and above with EPQ and PPQ designations were extremely strong. If you are using the Green Sheet as a guide for your purchases, you may as well throw it in the trash. Prices realized were 50% to 75% ABOVE Green Sheet’s bid and ask prices. We will have a better understanding of the direction of the market as the Long Beach show is just around the corner and is scheduled for February 2nd through the 6th. We will be sitting up at the show. Our table number is # 523, I believe. We purchased close to $200,000 worth of new currency and coins that we will be putting on the Jhon E Cash website today and tomorrow. I purchased a lot of notes in small and large size. Some were common FR numbers and some were in high grade PMG-66EPQ grade. Browse through the site to view them. I am also purchasing a nice currency collection on the 15th of this month. I will post them shortly. Over I was very happy with the show results and look forward to the Long Beach show where I will be able to meet many of you.

1/11/2011 - FUNTampa, FL was an incredible trip. Jhon regretfully did not attend while he was recovering from back surgery. The weather during the entire trip was more than pleasant considering the looming snowstorm that would hit Dallas later on that week. This was our first major show set-up since I began working for Jhon. I brought nearly 450 business cards and left with a mere 20. Alot of folks were excited to see me back behind a table as they had lost touch with me after my anaconda days and I re-made many connections with friends and clients that I enjoyed so much during the shows I attended in the past.

The atmosphere on the bourse was chaotic as droves of people flowed around the isles of coins and numisma stopping every few cases or so to browse the wares of the largest congregation of dealers of the that will be available to them for the next twelve months. They were in the right place because there were more beautiful coins available at this show for me to buy than the last 5 I attended combined. I managed to pick up an incredible array of amazingly beautiful rainbow toned morgan dollars. Toned commemoratives, however, were still elusive with only a couple of marginal examples floating around the bourse.

While the people came in droves, many dealers reported lower than expected retail sales but made their show with the purchases they came back with from the show. There was as we like to say, alot of tirekicking going on but it was still refreshing to double my coin inventory with some amazing pieces that I am working on right now and should have up by tomorrow evening. Trust me, you will not be disappointed by the treasures I returned with.

I arrived in Tampa on Tuesday and returned on Sunday. My flight was conveniently delayed as it gave me another chance to stop by a small art shop that I found with some interesting pieces so I got to enjoy them again for a few hours while they de-iced planes coming from the tundra that was DFW at the time due to a strong snowstorm that was looming across the entire southeastern United States. The airport security finally got me into that full body scanner deal and they also patted me down in a humorously violating attempt to make me the last passenger on the plane but I made it back and am exited to get these new purchases up for you all to enjoy. Look for us in Long Beach in February.
