Obverse Design: Barber's head of Liberty right, IN GOD WE TRUST above, seven stars left, six stars right, date 1891 below. Stars each have six points. Similar to the design adopted in 1892.

Reverse Design: Heraldic eagle. Somewhat similar in concept to the adopted design, except for certain stars being below the ribbon and for a group of clouds above.

Additional Details: In the Smithsonian Institution.
